We continue to meet at the Erie Yacht Club. We will be in the lower level dining area for the next few meetings. Meetings begin at 6:00 pm with a social hour and dinner, followed by our program/speaker.Our Dinner Menu:
Our dinner will be a choice of two entrees: MIXIOTES DE POLLO CON NOPALES: Chicken thighs with tender cactus, onions, carrots, celery, sun dry tomatoes and small slice of jalapeno pepper cooked in a parchment paper pouch. VERY MILD not spicy; or MIXIOTES DE CORDERO CON NOPALES: New Zealand Lamb (shanks or small chops, very lean meat) with tender cactus, onions, carrots and baby potatoes with ancho/guajillo sauce cooked in a parchment paper pouch. MILD not spicy. In Mexico the mixiotes are cooked in cactus leaves but here the paper will do the trick. This time we need people's choices because we are going to be serving PLATED dinners at the table. These meals are very easy to serve and remain warm. As usual dinner includes: Tossed salad with dry Fruit, walnuts, cucumbers and tomatoes. Dressings, Rolls & Butter. Ye Ole Sweet Shoppe Cake and coffee.Our Guest Speaker:

Annette Franklin, Ph.D., is presently a Lecturer/Field Coordinator at State University of New York Fredonia and has been a social worker for 23 years working in various practice settings (micro, mezzo and macro). Dr. Franklin received her BSW from Gannon University, MSW from the University of Pittsburgh and PhD from SUNY Buffalo. She has a certificate in Teaching and Leading in Diversity and in Gerontology.Topic:

<p>Our speaker will be Dr. Annette Franklin. Dr.Franklin, Ph.D., is presently a Lecturer/Field Coordinator at State University of New York Fredonia and has been a social worker for 23 years working in various practice settings (micro, mezzo and macro). Dr. Franklin received her BSW from Gannon University, MSW from the University of Pittsburgh and PhD from SUNY Buffalo. She has a certificate in Teaching and Leading in Diversity and in Gerontology. Prior research agenda has focused on the historical recruiting efforts for African American teachers; particularly interests in the issues of teacher recruiting efforts in urban schools. A licensed social worker in Pennsylvania, Dr. Franklin has had a long-standing interest in schools of social work and education collaborating on issues of social justice in urban schools. Most recently, her focus has been on older adults, particularly minority females.</p>
